(In honor of Nadia Murad*)
the “Voice of People in Sadness”
screams for all those people in pain
the shriek that leaves them voiceless
And emotionally maimed
they are legion and they are
left without a hand of care
No compassion kindness love
All missing with none to spare
victims all of raging hate
And lives torn by tyrant’s fists
people losing precious lives
genocide made manifest
injustices and grief that
mandate lives to misery
persecution everywhere
chattels of sex-slavery
pained with passion stands Nadia
caring – humanist – friend she‘s
a voice for those who can’t speak
In a world that hears her pleas
compassionate and youngest
ambassador to the UN
her hopes for a much better world
helps those saddened voices ascend
